This book is part overview, part revision guide, for those learning how disputes are resolved in the civil courts of England and Wales. It is written primarily for students training to be barristers, but will also be of use to solicitors and others who wish to improve their knowledge of the subject.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It provides an accessible and readable account of the procedural and evidential aspects of civil litigation as taught and assessed on the Bar Professional Training Course, with a focus on the topics that must be mastered for the examinations. The book makes reference to relevant primary source materials, gives advice on using practitioner texts, contains revision tips throughout and concludes with a guide to examination technique. It is the culmination of nearly 25 years of experience teaching the subject and making revision fun. It thus aims to support and enhance the learning process and so help students pass their exams and begin pupillage, or other internship, with confidence.
The Author
Virginia V Dunn , BA, MA, Barrister began practice in civil and family law and spent most of the last 25 years teaching students training for the Bar at the Inns of Court School of Law, now the City Law School. She taught a range of subjects there, including litigation and evidence. For much of the time, she co-ordinated the civil litigation course, and has first-hand knowledge of how the subject is taught and assessed. She is currently a Visiting Lecturer there. She contributes to several of the City Law School’s Bar Manuals supporting training for the Bar, and has written for the Institute of Legal Executives. This book is the culmination of many years helping students to enjoy learning the subject with her popular revision notes. A special effort has been made to produce this book in time for the 2010-2011 BTPC civil litigation assessment.
